Information Needed Before Boat Lift Controller Installation

Document the lift type, tank count, valve arrangement, motor count, motor labels, control voltage, and shore-power connection. Include the boat’s loaded weight and the lift’s rated capacity. These details help distinguish a straightforward replacement from a configuration that needs additional review.
Photograph context and details
Start with a wide view showing the lift, dock, boat, and waterline. Then capture the controller front and interior label, valves, hoses, motors, wiring entries, mounting surface, and any damaged areas. Make labels readable and avoid opening energized electrical equipment.
Plan for access and operation
The controller should be readable and reachable from the normal dock approach without creating an obstruction. Consider hose and cable routes, boarding position, lighting, weather exposure, and how the operator will see the boat during movement.
