Boat Lift Controller Troubleshooting Checklist
Information to gather before contacting Guardian about a controller problem.

Write down the controller make, year, and model plus any visible serial or configuration labels. Note the lift manufacturer, lift type, tank count, valve arrangement, motor count, and voltage when known. Do not guess at electrical specifications.
Describe the behavior
Explain what command was given, what the lift did, what it did not do, and whether the condition is constant or intermittent. Record indicator lights, alarms, sounds, smells, leaks, and recent weather or power events. Stop using the system if operation appears unsafe.
Take useful photos and video
Provide one wide image showing the complete lift, dock, and boat position. Add close-ups of the controller face, identification labels, valves, hoses, motor area, and visible damage. A short video can capture timing or uneven motion that is difficult to explain in writing.
Use the lift details to make the final decision
Every installation is different. Before ordering or troubleshooting a controller, document the boat’s loaded weight, lift type, rated capacity, tank count, valve configuration, motor setup, and current control equipment. Guardian can review that information and recommend the appropriate next step.
